The best-shaped roots will come from plantings in the ground. Potted plants will form the best roots in heavy garden soil. Normal practice is to plant sweet potato about 1 foot (30 cm) apart in a row and rows 3 feet (90 cm) apart. Remember to plant deeper so fresh nodes are in the soil to form the best-shaped roots.

1/4-1/2 cup water. 350F oven for 1-1.5 hours. 3 cloves fresh garlic. Drizzle of olive oil. Sprinkle of parsley, thyme, cumin, salt. Harvest potatoes in fall after the leaves turn yellow and wither. Carefully dig up the plant and remove the tubers. Do not wash potatoes before storing simply brush off dirt. To increase sweetness, cure potatoes by placing in a warm location (80-85° F, 27-29° C) with high humidity (85-90%) for 6 to 10 days before storing.
